Robert Warren Crosthwaite, 72, passed away August 10, 2014 in Richfield. He was born May 11, 1942 in Los Angeles, California to Harold Scott and Lilian Louise Robinson Crosthwaite. He married Patricia Marie Gratten on September 27, 1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they grew old together. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2013.
Bob served two tours of duty in Vietnam as an Army Ranger. He received a battle field commission in Vietnam. He was a four time Purple Heart recipient. He was active in the Monroe American Legion.
Bob worked many years as an elevator mechanic for Otis Elevator, experiencing many ups and downs in his lifetime.
After Bob and Pat retired to Utah in 2000, they were guides for the ATV Jamorbee held every September. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking creating many intricate and beautiful works of art.
Bob and Pat’s home was filled with all kinds of birds, dogs and cats.
He is survived by his son, Robert (Denise) Bailie, Fullerton, CA; step-children: Linda Giannola, Medina, OH; James Longworth, Monroe; Bob (Phae) Longworth, Aloha, OR; 2 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-granddaughter; brother, Hal (Carolyn) Crosthwaite, Danville, NJ.
Also preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation services have been held. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel where friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Military rites will be provided by Monroe American Legion Post #37 and Utah Honor Guard.
