Robert Clayton Banks, 72, passed away March 13, 2018 at his home in Elsinore. He was born October 18, 1945 in Kanab to Randall Burton and Marjorie Rasmussen Banks. He married Helen Forsyth in Newcastle, Utah in September 29, 1973, and were sealed in the Manti Utah Temple, February 27, 1999.
He spent four years 4 years in the US Navy and was privileged to be in the crew that christened the USS America.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed being outdoors with his family in many different activities. He had a green thumb and enjoyed his garden.
He was raised in a family that moved America. He was a trucker for over 45 years, driving over 10,000,000 miles without any accidents.
He has served in the Elders quorum, as the High Priests Group Leader, Sunday School president, and he and his wife served in the ward library for over 12½ years.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of Elsinore; daughters, Allison Spencer, Richfield; HollyAnne Banks, Elsinore; grandson, Talon Spencer; two brothers.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Dounia Banks; parents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 50 East 200 North, where friends may call for viewing on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery with military honors by the Sevier Valley American Legion Post #37 and the US Navy Honor Guard.
