Richard Rowley

Dr. Richard Thorup Rowley, 84, returned to our Father in Heaven on April 15, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV. He was born in Richfield, Utah on July 10, 1930 to Andrew W. and Nephine M. Thorup Rowley.
Richard served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Great Britain. He graduated from Brigham Young University where he met and married the love of his life, Maile J. Perreira in the Manti Temple. He obtained his Doctorate of Education Degree from Utah State University and then worked as an administrator and professor for BYU. Richard enjoyed serving in various Church callings especially teaching and working in the temple.
He is survived by his wife Maile; son, Richard A. (Jill) Rowley; seven grandchildren: Richard (Alanna), Michelle (Nic) Evans, Kimberly (Robert) Thalman, Ryan (Camille), Tiffany, Megan, Katelyn, eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Elsie M. Robinson.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, David T. Rowley; sisters: Ruth N, and Viola T. LeFevre; and brothers: Andrew S., David T., William H., John F., Robert D. and Randolph F.
He will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held in his honor on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 5th South, in Salt Lake City. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
