Richard Harold Olsen, 90, of Gunnison passed away at home on October 8, 2019. Richard was born on the family farm in Christenberg to Harold Richard and Bertha Larsen Olsen on March 5, 1929. He married Alma Sorensen on November 9, 1948. They are the parents of eight children: Steven (Karen) Olsen, Boyd, TX; Peggy (Paul) Ruesch, Hannibal, MO; Danny Olsen, San Antonio, TX; Kathleen Carnes, Gunnison; Micheal Olsen, Richfield; Lynn Olsen, Mesquite, NV; David (Stephanie) Olsen, Cedar City; and Darin Olsen(deceased).

Richard was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a carpenter and true craftsman and owner of Gunnison Home Building and Cabinet company. His beautiful work can be seen in many homes and businesses throughout the valley and the state of Utah.

Richard is survived by his wife, Alma; 7 of his children; 20 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson; his brother, Roger L (Floris) Olsen, Mapleton; sister-in-law Rose Marie Sorensen, Salt Lake; brothers-in-law: Keith N. (Marina) Sorensen, Salina; and Howard Reid Sorensen, Payson.

Richard was proceeded in death by his son, Darin Olsen; grandsons: Patrick Ruesch, Robert Carnes and Brandon Olsen; parents; sisters: Mildred Stevens and Gladys Peterson, and his mother-in-law, Erna Christensen.
