     Richard Henry Babcock, 82, of Annabella, UT, formally of San Diego, CA passed away of cancer, at home in North Las Vegas, Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2024.  
     Rick studied biology at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts and Oregon State University. He graduated from BYU and also received a Master’s Degree. He taught AP Biology in high school in California. Richard was an accomplished musician playing piano, organ and French horn.  
     Rick adored his dogs: Wallace, Gabe, and Tessa; and his cat Tillie.  
      He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Lynn (Tish) Babcock, Steven (Randi) Babcock, Belva (David, deceased) Stone, Vicci Babcock; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Gladys Brown Babcock. 
     Cremation followed by graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 5 at 11:00 am in the Monroe City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com  
     In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to ASPCA or World Wildlife Federation.
