Richard “Rick” Lyman Avondet left this physical world December 16, 2024 in Centerfield, UT. He was born February 8, 1944 in Ogden, UT to Lyman and Twila Rakes Avondet.

Rick married Sandy Hover July 2, 1965, in Ogden, UT. Sandy’s brother Gary was in the service with Rick and Gary introduced them. They knew it was love at first sight. They married after only knowing each other 10 days. They had 3 children. They were married for 58 years. They made their home in Centerfield, UT for the past 30+ years.

Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved sharing his passion of hunting and fishing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rick was a master in dry wall and sheet rock work. He would work circles around everyone else.

Rick is survived by his children; Scott, Connie and Janet, 9 grandchildren; Tricia (Charley), Kyle, Katie, Monika (Miguel), Bryan, Veronika, Melissa, Taylor (Wyatt), Parker, Lane, Jared and 11 great-grandchildren; Brilee, Kaylani, Kyley, Kyler, Adalee, Taylee, Deklynn, Mateo, Waylon, Dalton, Averi; his sister, Sherry Wright and his sister in-laws, Irene Mack, Sherry Hugh and Debbie Hover.

Rick is preceded in death by his wife, Sandy, “Freddy”; parents; son in-law, Frank; siblings, David “Butch”, Shirley, Tom “Benny”, Leonard, Lois and Linda.
