Rhea P. Duffin
Monroe, Utah
Rhea D Parsons Duffin, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away May 13, 2015, in Richfield, at the age of 85. Rhea was born April 29, 1930 in Monroe, Utah to Aaron and Marva Nielson Parsons. She married Floyd Mills in 1948, they later divorced. She married Leland Duffin in 1968. He preceded her in death, February 25, 2008.
Rhea cherished her many fond memories of growing up on her family’s farm in Monroe. She graduated from South Sevier High School in 1948 and made her home in the "Little Green Valley" of Monroe. Rhea was a wonderful pianist, often playing only by ear. Many of her LDS church callings involved playing the piano and organ. She sang in duets, quartets and choirs at many functions around the valley. Rhea was also a talented artist and poet.
Among Rhea’s favorite things to do were getting a Coke, going for long drives and reminiscing about "the good old days" in Monroe. She had a keen sense of humor and a charismatic personality. Rhea was the life of the party wherever she went. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She adored her daughter, her precious granddaughters and her little dog, Cookie.
She is survived by her daughter: Alicia (Brent) McKinlay; granddaughters: Patricia McKinlay, Hollie (Nate) Curtis, Kamie (Kirk) Kelsey, and Annie (Austin) Somers, all Richfield; and 6 great-grandchildren; step-children: Lisa (Mark) King, Monroe; and Greg (Elizabeth) Duffin, Salt Lake City; sister-in-law, Connie Parsons and brother-in-law, David Dastrup, both Monroe.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Kent Parsons; sister: Karen Dastrup, and step-son, Michael Duffin.
The family would like to thank the staff members of the Richfield Care Center who were so kind and loving to Rhea.
