Ralph Harold Peterson, 89, passed away March 16, 2015 at his home in Glenwood with his loving eternal companion by his side. Ralph was born December 11, 1925 in Glenwood to Lafayette Christian and Marvel Rosella Peterson. He married Alta Oldroyd, June 10, 1953 in Glenwood. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Utah Temple on January 16, 1963.
Ralph served in the Army during WWII. He was in the infantry, later moving over to the Air Force and working as a mechanic. After his war service, he moved home to Glenwood where he enjoyed hunting and spending time with family and friends. He retired as a millworker at Georgia Pacific in Sigurd.
Ralph is survived by his beloved Alta; brother, Donald (Barbara) Peterson of Mt. Pleasant and sister-in-law, Leila Oldroyd of Glenwood. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marguerite Torgensen, Howard Peterson and Francis Case.
The family extends their appreciation to Gunnison Hospice and a special thank you to Cindy Madsen and Sandra Baldwin for the love and care given to Ralph during this last illness.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Glenwood LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
