Ralph Harold Lund, 87, passed away June 13, 2012 in Gunnison at his home. Ralph was born May 7, 1925 in Salt Lake City to Charles Walter Lund and Ann Leona Childs Lund. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School. He married Melva Tuttle on January 3, 1947 in Salt Lake City, UT and loved her dearly.
Ralph cherished his time traveling as a newly weds. He enjoyed their days that were spent in the cabin that he built in Japs Valley. He worked as a rancher throughout his life.
Ralph was a life-long-learner earning his Real Estate License; and taking classes at Snow College to learn computers, typing, and to navigate the Internet. He enjoyed playing cards, backgammon, and games on the internet with friends from all over the world, fishing, herding sheep, fixing things, and spending time with his family. He was amazed to see horses and buggies evolve to cars, and man landing on the moon. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Melva, their children; Charles Lund (Jeannine), Peggy Hill, and Annalee Albrecht (Rusty), 10 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren, and a nephew Robert Turley. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Don and Aborie and his sister Faye. A private service will be held in his honor on Saturday June 16, 2012. The family thanks Gunnison Valley Hospice and Home Health Care for their tender care in his last days.
