Phyllis Elaine Simons

November 11, 1948 — May 30, 2018

Elaine Hansen Simons "Legs", passed away suddenly at home on May 30, 2018. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, George & Phyllis Mae Cowley Hansen; 2 brothers, Larry & Lon Hansen and beloved grandson, Paul Wesley Hansen. Elaine is survived by her older brother, George Wade Hansen; children, Paul (Carrie) Hansen; Marty (Valerie) Lamkey; Mandi (Steve) Patterson. Elaine had 11 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren.

Elaine was an amazing women, she was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and loved every minute she got to spend with them. She loved to share all of her many treasures, she collected with them! Elaine had so many passions in life. She loved her Avon business, and all of the social interaction she got from it.

Elaine loved to make crafts of all kinds and was an amazing artist in that way! She enjoyed spending time on the mountain and camping. She loved her yard and home and always made sure her yard was beautiful and adorned with all of her many crafts, including her favorite bird houses. Elaine was always busy, working, crafting, doing her Avon, or yard work but she would always find time to visit and enjoy her family and friends.

Elaine attended beauty school in Richfield, UT and worked at The Branding Iron, the Manti Sewing Plant, Utah Department of Corrections, in Gunnison and most recently at Tractor Supply in Ephraim. During her time at each job, she made many friends that have become a part of her family.

We will always remember her by her special personality. She was stubborn, full of life and sassy! She was loving, generous and so kind! Our family would like to thank all of her many friends for everything they have done for her, but we would like to give a special thanks to two people who were so good to her and always made sure she was ok and taken care of... Brody Kiesel and of course, Yvonne Carter, who was Elaine’s best friend. They would spend so much time together, on the phone or off on a fun adventure. We thank you and love you for everything you have done for our mom.

Elaine asked that when she passed away we would not morn for her at a funeral, but instead hold a big party for her. She wanted all of her loved ones to get together and visit - sharing stories about good times and memories.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor on June 16, 2018 at her home in Manti, 255 East 400 South, Manti from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A BBQ dinner will follow at 6:00 p.m. for family and close friends. We would love for anyone who knew and loved Elaine to join us in celebrating her life.

If you need to contact the family you may call.
