Phil McGee

Richfield, Utah

Beloved father, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Phillip Ray McGee, passed away on October 31, 2015 due to injuries sustained from a truck accident on Cove Mountain. Phil was 48 years old. He was born in American Fork to Phillip and Delores McGee on September 14, 1967.

Many of his close relatives and friends called Phil by his middle name, Ray. He was an Eagle Scout, after graduating from American Fork High School class of 1985, he served in the U.S. Army. But his most proudest accomplishment was the birth of his children. He created and worked his own business, McGee's Finishing Carpentry for 20 years. He was very community oriented in volunteering with the American Red Cross, the Richfield Food Bank, and coaching his two youngest sons in a little league baseball team.

Phil loved the mountains, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, skiing and riding snowmobile. He loved his family and was a true friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed playing games, telling campfire stories, having fish fries and barbecues. He taught his children, nieces and nephews how to grow a garden, hunt, bottle and preserve their own food, to survive in the wilderness, to work hard, to get a good education, and to push forward and always do their best.

Phil was a Christian man and was very devoted to his church. He did all the carpentry work at the New Hope Baptist Church. He was a faithful man and taught the importance of faith and family values.

Phil left behind his wife, Wendy McGee of Richfield, and his six children: Jessica (AJ) Harris, McKaden McGee; Dustin, Chelsea, Braidon and Traiton Beaumont; mother, Delores McGee; sisters: Lyn McGee and Brenda Brinkerhoff; along with his nieces and nephews: Natasha, Cory McGee (Courtney Nowers); Andrew, McKenzie and Zoey Brinkerhoff.

He is preceded in death by his father, Phillip; and two brothers: Dustin and Justin McGee.

Cremation services have taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the New Hope Baptist Church, 392N Highway 118 (across the highway east from the Sevier County Justice Complex in Richfield). Ceremony will begin by honoring his military service by the V.F.W Sevier Post #5050, and the Utah Honor Guard. Following the ceremony there will be a potluck supper.
