Phillip F. Edmundson

Draper/Monroe

Philip F. Edmundson, 79, slipped away swiftly and unexpectedly early Sunday morning, April 5, 2020, in Murray—An Irish goodbye. He was in good health and spirits up until his final hour.

Born February 25, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas to Harold and Mary Edmundson, he was a deeply spiritual man - a storyteller, writer, poet, photographer, artist, musician and lover of nature. A cancer survivor. A salesman, a car guy and a people person.

He had a playful spirit. He went rollerblading at Liberty Park well into his seventies and would occasionally do so in a suit and tie "just for the hell of it." He loved singing in the church choir. He believed in a lot of things – getting old was not one of them. Most importantly, he believed in people and was always looking for little ways to offer help and encouragement. He would have added something about this transition being his "Next Great Adventure."

Philip is survived by his children: Theresa, Phil Jr, Harold and Blake; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Private family graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2020 in the Monroe City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
