Peggy Marie Hunt Nelson, 71, passed away peacefully in Lehi, Utah, January 13, 2021. Peggy was born March 7, 1949 in Richfield, Utah, the second daughter of Fred T. and Thurva Carson Hunt.  She married Dan Fredrick Nelson, December 27, 1969 in the Manti Temple.  They were later divorced.

Peggy graduated from Richfield High School in 1967.  She attended Southern Utah University, Brigham Young University, and graduated from University of Utah with a Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education.  She taught elementary school, special education, and worked as a counselor at the native American dormitories in Richfield, Utah.

Peggy’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She also loved cooking and enjoying good food.  She had a generous heart and spent a great deal of time finding the perfect cards and gifts for her loved ones.

Peggy is survived by her children: Dan A. (Isabel) Nelson, Holly M. (Drew) Williams, Heather S. (Daniel) Fackrell, David A. (Shannon) Nelson, and Valerie N. Nelson.  Also surviving are a sister, Marsha (Roger) Barney; sister-in-law, Teresa Winn; and nine grandchildren: Andrew A. Nelson, Matthew S. Nelson, Kit M. Williams, Amelia M. Williams, Nathan D. Fackrell, Gavin H. Fackrell, Ashton P. Fackrell, Crew D. Nelson and Jax A. Nelson.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Pamela K. (J. Ray) McKie, Fred T. Hunt, and C. Val Hunt.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
