Our sweet loving mother, grandmother, sister, Peggy Anne Gray Jensen, 77, passed away December 27, 2013 in Richfield. She was born April 17, 1936 in Elsinore to Garth Ramsay and Helen Louise Frandsen Gray. She married MacRay Jensen, August 10, 1956 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The marriage was solemnized August 10, 1968 in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death, October 28, 2001. The last 12 years without him have been hard, but she faced this time with grit and determination. She missed him dearly.
Mom filled the days of her life with many beautiful things: gardening, traveling, hunting, camping, listening to country music, bowling, golfing, refinishing furniture, visiting family and working with Dad. Most importantly, she lived her life loving, serving and caring for her family. She was never too busy nor too tired to give of herself to those she loved. Her family was her greatest joy and her biggest worry. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing gave her more joy than rocking a baby to sleep.
Mom was incredibly proud of her pioneer heritage. She was grateful for those who listened to and accepted the gospel, which continues to bless her family today. She loved sharing stories of her heritage and we appreciate that she passed those stories on to us.
She is survived by children: Joel Gray (Tess) Jensen, Joni Rae (Bret) Whittaker, Julie Anne (Bryce) Jensen, Dawn Rae (David) Guenther; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; siblings: Petraya (Larry) Dailey, Garth McNeal Gray, and Janet (Carl) Nielson.
Also preceded in death by parents; sister, Nancy Parsons.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Elsinore Ward Chapel. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary, 50 South 100 West, Richfield and Tuesday at the ward chapel in Elsinore from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
