Our loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Peggy Sorenson Barney, 54, passed away at her home on February 12, 2016 in Centerfield. She was born February 21, 1961, in Murray, the daughter of Boyd Lynn and Kaye Larsen Sorenson.
Peggy lived in Salt Lake City until the ninth grade when the family moved to Centerfield. She graduated from Gunnison Valley High School and married Wayne Barney in Centerfield on July 9, 1977.
She was a garage sale junkie and enjoyed collecting books, antiquing, sewing, and making quilts for family and friends. She was a master at cake decorating and made many cakes for family events. She loved her grandchildren and their special times together.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Wayne, Centerfield; mother, Kaye Sorenson, Centerfield; children: Jessie (Rick) Bush, Overton, NV; Danny (Mary) Barney, Orem; Bobby (Amanda) Barney, Gunnison; and John (Crystal) Barney, Hurricane; grandchildren: Haley, Sydney, Ethan, Breanna, Dakota, Grace, Mckenzie, Colton, Casen, Ryden, Peyton, Deagen, and Carter; siblings, Michael, Lynn, James, Mary, and Avral.
Preceding her in death by her father; sister, Rainie Lambertson, and an infant baby brother.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the Centerfield Ward Chapel, where friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Centerfield Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
