    Patricia Ann Smith Taylor was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She completed the mortal portion of her eternal life unexpectedly where she was reunited with her husband, David Roger Taylor, daughter, parents, siblings and friends on December 5, 2022 in St. George.  She was born January 5,1947 to Josephine Price and Howard Lee Smith, in Tremonton, Utah. She met her husband when she was just a teenager, and decided that she would spend the rest of her life building a family and beautiful life with him. They were married on March 29, 1963. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Together, they have 12 children, 41 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
    Patricia was a strong and loving woman. She became the very heart of her family and children. It was clear that she had an unconditional love for each one of her children, as she would often go without so she could provide for their needs. When company came, she would often boast about how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. She loved to bake for her family. Nobody could make bread like Mom! When friends came over, Mom would feed them all! Some of them even stayed for a while, calling her mom as well. 
    She worked alongside her husband in Death Valley Junction, where they ran a hotel, gas station, mechanic shop, restaurant, and post office. Mom loved how lively it was at the Junction, and how she was able to meet so many interesting people. Later, Mom and Dad moved to Washington, Utah. Mom fondly told stories about her occasionally mischievous children jumping out windows, lighting fires, and getting into fights. She recalls living in a small 2 bedroom home with 5 children and having to heat the house with firewood. She said, “times were tough, but we always managed to get by.” After moving to Monroe, Mom and Dad started to thrive. Dad ran a construction company with the boys, while Mom continued to bake, give gifts, and love on her children and grandchildren. 
    Mom loved to travel and loved to explore different places with her children. She also loved thrift shopping and always found the best deals. She was always so excited when she found a perfect gift for someone. Every gift she put together, was put together with love. The last few years of Mom's life was spent in Apple Valley, Utah. She loved her little home nestled up next to the mountains. She loved having her grandchildren come and play in her tree house. Mom loved more than anything to just be with her family. Mom had a heart of gold. She will be missed. 
    Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mom and Dad were called to serve in the Illinois Nauvoo Mission three different times. Mom loved meeting new people, performing in the skits and plays, and leading people through the historical sites. 
    Our family will never be the same without our heart and glue. She will truly be missed. Patricia was reunited with many loved ones, she is preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Sheryl Dorenbosch; parents, Howard Lee Smith and Josephine Price Whitaker; brother, Leslie Arnel Smith; and her husband's parents and siblings whom she considered her own. 
    She is survived by her children: Dave Jr (Amber), Faron (Rebecca), Jacob (Jasmin), Daniel (Zelpha), Corban, Hyrum (Helen), Rebecca, Timothy, Clayton, Michael (Trista), and Thomas (Mckayla); son-in-law, Neal Dorenbosch; and her brother, Howard Smith. 
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Monroe 3rd Ward Chapel, 140 South Main Street, Monroe, where a viewing will be held that morning from 11:30-12:30.  Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
