Pat Anderson
Monroe, Utah
Patricia Rogers Anderson passed away on August 10, 2024, at the age of 95 in Bountiful. She was born in Kanosh, to Helen Jane Bird and Lloyd Franklin Rogers on October 26, 1928. She married Larry Evan Anderson on December 20, 1957, in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death, along with her parents, brother and sister, Rex and Roma Jean.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff (Lori), Joe (Shawnee) her daughter, Leisa (Bruce), 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She spent her childhood and teen years in her beloved Kanosh. Her father was a farmer and at a tender age she helped on the farm, driving the truck to and from the fields. She graduated from Millard High School and attended Brigham Young University for one year. She transferred to the Branch Agricultural College (now SUU) in Cedar City, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught school in Panaca, Nevada; Salt Lake City, Fillmore, and Monroe, Utah. She taught nearly every grade but spent most of her career working with 6th graders. While in Monroe she and her family connected with a group of wonderful friends and together they took summer road trips and spent countless hours at Lake Powell.
Grandma Pat was a co-conspirator with grandchildren, and they undertook activities and consuming of treats not necessarily approved of by their parents. She gave most of them driving lessons in her car as a precursor to them getting their driving permits.
In retirement she and Larry purchased a park model home in Yuma, Arizona. She continued to go to Yuma on her own after Larry’s passing in 2004. She had an artistic flare and in Yuma she learned to do paper tole (converting artistic prints into three-dimensional works). She became so proficient that many sought her expertise when they wanted to learn.
