Dr. Parke Phillips

Robert Parke Phillips, DDS, 58, passed away June 4, 2015 at his home in Marysvale, Utah with his loving family at his side. Parke’s passing was due to complications of cancer. He was born May 1, 1957 in Ruston, Louisiana to Robert Wayne and Yvonne Catherine Lazarus Phillips. He married Katherine Marie Heath, March 8, 1986 in Ruston. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Utah Temple, September 24, 2005.
Parke was raised and attended schools in Ruston, and graduated with a degree in dentistry from LSU. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He and his wife moved to Marysvale after becoming “addicted” to the beautiful landscapes and trails available to them on the Paiute ATV Trail. They have been proud sponsors of trail ever since. He has been active in the planning and production of the Paiute Trail Jamboree from the beginning. He and Kathye have been the ultimate camp ground hosts at Lizzie and Charlie’s RV Park in Marysvale.
Parke has served faithfully in his callings in the LDS Church. He has served in bishoprics and was a beloved Gospel Doctrine instructor in Marysvale.
He is survived by his wife, Kathye of Marysvale; daughter, Kira Phillips Gibbs and son-in-law, Jeff Gibbs; granddaughter, Autumn Faith Gibbs all of Ruston, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Marysvale LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30. Additional services will take place the following Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Ruston, LA.
