Orson Arthur Huntsman passed away on January 31, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born April 27, 1942 to Richard Truman and Thelma Miller Huntsman in Cedar City, Utah.
When Orson was two months old the family moved to Fallon, Nevada where he grew up. He went to a one room schoolhouse through 8th grade and then graduated from Churchill County High School. He attended the University of Nevada Reno for 1 year and then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Montevideo, Uruguay. He then finished his studies at UNR with a double major in Art and Spanish. Orson taught art and Spanish in various schools.
He married Lizanne Johnson in 1969 and they have two children, Jeremy Huntsman and Anelisa Freeman. He and Lizanne lived in Reno until 1997 when they retired and moved to Richfield, UT. They served an LDS mission to Quito, Ecuador from 2002-2004 and returned to Ecuador two times to do humanitarian projects. They served a second mission from 2016-2018 at the LDS Institute at Snow College. They relocated to Spring City, UT in 2008 where they built their dream home.
Orson served in the Church in various callings, bishop, patriarch, but his favorite was teaching the gospel. He prepared his lessons for weeks ahead of time.
Family and friends were very special to him. He loved to visit whenever he could. He loved a good game of golf and spent many hours with good friends on the golf courses. He was an accomplished artist specializing in watercolor and was generous with sharing them. His kids and grandkids have so many they have to rotate them on their walls. The family would spend their summer vacations hiking the Sierras with two other families and have so many memories of good times.
He is survived by his wife Lizanne Johnson Huntsman; Children: Jeremy Huntsman (Mikki) and Anelisa Freeman (Daniel); brother, Pat Huntsman (Ona); 5 grandchildren and 3 ½ great grandchildren. Family is everything.
