Norma Branch Hooper
Richfield, Utah

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Norma Dean Branch Hooper, peacefully passed away on August 16, 2022 just one day after her 89th birthday, in Richfield, Utah.  She was born August 15, 1933 to Clarence Ky and Velva May Foy Branch. The fifth of ten children.  She met the love of her life, LeRoy Hooper, at the young age of 10 and he was 14. They formed a loving relationship and was married on October 22,1950. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Utah Temple on June 19, 1963. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2021.

Mom was an excellent homemaker, seamstress, quilter, and crocheter. She quilted the most beautiful quilts and many were recipients of her quilts. She loved crocheting and you could always find her with a bag full of yarn working on small projects, most commonly hot pads, wash cloths, and doilies.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she loved serving the Lord and held many callings such as Cub Scout Leader, Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women, where she was the Girl’s Camp director for many years.  She was also a member of The Daughters of Utah Pioneers for many, many years.

She is survived by her three children: Roy Dean (Teresa) Hooper, Nephi; Sheila (Roland) Hansen, Lehi; Elaine (Steve) Damron, South Jordan; 11 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Virginia Sorenson and Myrna Okerlund; and one brother Verl Branch.

Also preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Clair and Foy Branch; sisters: Ivy Branch and Shirley Branch, AnnaLee Andrews and Lynn Christensen.

The Hooper family would like to thank the many staff at Stonehenge of Richfield and the Richfield Care Center for their loving care in Mom’s final months.

Cremation services have been held at the Magleby Mortuary Cremation Center. A graveside will be held at a later date. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
