Ned "J" Nielson, 90, passed away January 20, 2014 at his home surrounded by family in Central Valley. He was born in Central March 2, 1923 to George and Pearl Hawley Nielson. He married Norma Barrow, March 8, 1945 in Central Valley. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She preceded him in death February 5, 2006.
Ned served in the Navy on Treasure Island during WWII. He was a dock supervisor with IML Freight Lines. He loved fishing and bowling. He and Norma loved traveling with the trailer all over the country.
Survivors include his children: Brent Nielson, South Carolina; Renon N. Sayer, San Jose, CA; Craig G. (Karen) Nielson, Central Valley; sister-in-law, Jane Nielson, Central Valley; 8 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren with great-great-grandchildren coming along as well.
Also preceded in death by his parents and son, Sterling Edward Nielson.
Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield City Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050. Friends may call at the Central Valley LDS Chapel from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
