Our beloved Naoma Clark Kern, 73, passed away peacefully in Monroe, Utah on November 5, 2017. She was born on February 20, 1944 in Salt Lake as the second child of the late Ruby and Grant Averett. Naoma was married to James Robert Kern on March 10, 1991 and was sealed for time and all eternity March 10, 1992 in the Jordan River Temple, West Jordan, Utah. Naoma obtained a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Westminster University in 1988 and worked in that field until her retirement.
A devoted member of the LDS Church, Naoma was a kind and caring neighbor and friend to all. She kept her door open to anyone and was happy to share a laugh. She enjoyed genealogy, quilting, sewing, crocheting, and playing card games with her family. Loved by everyone who knew her, Naoma will be sorely missed but remembered forever.
She is survived by her son: David Wabel Jr.; grandchildren: Krystal Kirkpatrick, Kacie (Travis) Quinn, Kylee (Emjai) Kirkpatrick, David R. Wabel, Margaret Wabel, Kody (Megan) Kirkpatrick and Sherees Wabel; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Braden, Carson, Serenity, Alarick, and Aiden; sister: Kathleen Spendlove; 3 nephews, 1 niece; 7 grand niblings and 6 great-grand niblings; as well as many other family and friends who have been blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband; a daughter: Nancy Marie Hansen; brother-in-law: Neil Spendlove; stepfather: Grant Averett
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Monroe 4th Ward, 49 East 200 North. Friends may call Friday at the Magleby Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the ward chapel in Monroe from 8:30- 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Elysian Burial Gardens located in Millcreek, UT.
