Nannette Owens Gray, 77, passed away peacefully June 6, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nannette was born April 12, 1934 in Richfield, Utah to Delwin Thomas and Clara Lott Owens . She was raised in Joseph, Utah and was an active member of the LDS Church. She served in many callings throughout her life. She was a talented and accomplished musician and loved to sing. She sang and performed at numerous weddings and funerals throughout Sevier County. She also was a member of the BYU Acapella Choir and sang the lead in several operas. She graduated from BYU with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education and taught school for 17 years in Utah and Colorado.
She married her high school sweetheart, Sam Leland Gray, on June 1, 1957 in the Manti LDS Temple. During their married life they lived in Provo, Utah, Boise, Idaho, Wenatchee, Washington, Denver, Colorado and for 46 years in West Valley City, Utah.
Nannette is survived by her husband, Sam, and their four children; Michele (Mitch) Hart, Kimberly Boothe, Stewart (Marla) Gray, and Travis (Cindy) Gray, 23 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Diane (Raymond) Hendrickson. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Delwin Thomas Owens, Val E. Owens and Richard R. Owens and two sisters Alta Newman and Clara Dean Owens.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 12:00 Noon in the Jordan North 2 nd LDS Ward Chapel (4270 Falcon Street, West Valley City) Friends may call at the ward chapel on Friday from 7-8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery. She will be missed, always loved and forever remembered. Funeral arrangements will be provided by Magleby Mortuary, Richfield.
