Nancy Burdette

November 8, 1939 — March 2, 2017

Nancy Jensen Tuttle Burdette, 77, passed away in Mayfield, Utah, on  March 2, 2017. She was born to Calvin and Matilda Anderson Jensen on November 8, 1939 in the home built by her parents in Mayfield.

Nancy grew up in Mayfield and graduated from Gunnison High School in 1958. She married Terry Tuttle of Manti on August 7, 1959. They were later divorced. They are the parents of four children: Tamra Cox, Grantsville, UT; Todd (Colleen) Tuttle, Sparks, NV; Russell (Barbie) Tuttle, Albuquerque, NM; Teresa (Doug) Miller, San Diego, CA. She married Paul Burdette of Clifton, CO on September 4, 1980. After 24 years in Colorado, she returned to Utah in 1987 and eventually, in 1996, moved back into the same house in Mayfield where she was born.

Nancy is survived by two brothers Roger (Bonnie) Jensen of Gunnison and Wesley (Kathy) Jensen of Mt. Pleasant, her four children, twelve grandchildren: Natalie White, Sasha Tuttle, Casey Cox, Adam Tuttle, Rob Miller, Samuel Tuttle, Trevor Cox, Skyler Tuttle, Collin Tuttle, Holly Cox, Sean Tuttle, and Savannah Tuttle; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Burdette; sister, Debra Madsen; grandson, Steffan Tuttle and son-in-law, Seth Cox.

Nancy lived to care for others. While raising her family, she spent 16 years working as a nursing assistant for several nursing homes and home health agencies. She also worked at the childcare center at the Gunnison Valley Hospital. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities over her life. Her fondest memories were of Primary. Most of all, she valued time with her large family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all her extended family. She loved living in Mayfield and looked forward to gatherings with her dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Mayfield LDS Ward Chapel where friends may call from 11:00-12:30. Interment will be in the Mayfield Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
