Nan Sorensen Bodily, 71, passed away peacefully March 29, 2016 at her home in Taylorsville surrounded by her family. She was born February 19, 1945 in Richfield , UT to Junius F. and Iva Lee Powell Sorensen. She married Elden Stanley Bodily, April 26, 1968 in the Manti Temple. Together they had 6 wonderful children. Her greatest "treasures" and joy in life were her children and 11 grandchildren.

N an was a true disciple of Christ, loving and serving those around her. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nan served in numerous callings, most notably as ward organist for over 30 years. Nan served a mission in the Wisconsin, Milwaukee mission from 2009-10, and also served in the Jordan River Temple as a coordinator, and baptistery organist.

" Miss Nan" was an exceptional and dedicated teacher who influenced and inspired numerous children in head start and kindergarten for over 20 years. Nan had a beautiful singing voice. She was a poet and song writer, writing over 60 songs. She was an amazing cook. Her love of family, nurturing, and dedication to holiday traditions will leave lasting memories for generations to come. Nan was successful in all she did. She is greatly loved and will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Survived by her children: Robert Bodily, Carthage, NC; Kristine (Scott) Taylor, Taylorsville; Kathryn Bodily, South Jordan; Russell (Gabriela) Bodily, West Jordan; Kayleen (Don) Dunn, Taylorsville; 11 grandchildren; siblings: Rosalie (Jim) Christensen, Richfield; Marilyn Fleming, Glenwood; Kaye (Donald) Bybee, Glenwood; Richard (Linda) Sorensen, Murray; Julie (Ken) Richins, Farmington.

Preceded in death by her parents; stillborn son, Elden Sorensen Bodily; sister, Jeanine (Arlo) Wilkinson; brother-in-law, Dennis Fleming.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Taylorsville Garden 2 nd Ward, 4252 South Bennion Road. Friends may call Friday evening at the ward chapel from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

I n lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the LDS General Missionary Fund.
