Nada Anderson
Manti, Utah
Nada Marie Andreasen Anderson, 94, of Manti, passed away peacefully at the Majestic Care and Rehab Center in Salt Lake City, March 6 2012. Nada was born June 28, 1917 in Redmond, to Peter Niels and Semena Caroline Madsen Andreasen.
Nada lived in Redmond until she met and married Danny Kenneth Anderson on March 1, 1940. They made their home in Mayfield for about 15 years and then moved to Sterling. She made her home in Manti after the passing of her husband.
Mom was known for her meticulously clean house and yard. She was always busy making sure that everything was clean and in order. She had a talent for making her home warm and cozy—even on a limited budget. She won the Tidy Bug award two times while living in Manti. She taught her children to be honest and fugal. She always had a love of reading and she instilled this in her children. She also enjoyed sewing and preferred using her treadle sewing machine to the new, modern, electric sewing machines. She used this to make many cute things for her grandchildren.
Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she was happy for all those in her ward who gave her tender loving care.
Nada is survived by her children: Sharon Kolvord, Clovis California; Betty (Ted) Carpenter, West Jordan; Marella (Robert) Christensen, Plain City; Joyce (Rudy) Draper, Woods Cross; Kendall Anderson, Manti; and one sister Tola Peterson, St George. Nada has 12 grandchildren—6 boys and 6 girls; also 17 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; and one great-great-grandson.
Nada was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan Anderson; son, Dennis K. Anderson; two sons-in-law, Bruce Haake and Don Kolvord; brothers, Micheal, Carlyle and Edwin and a sister Artamus.
At Mom’s request, there will be a private family memorial service held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary, 195 West 100 North, Manti. Interment will be in the Mayfield Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
The family wishes to give the Majestic Care Center and Utah Hospice Specialists a heart felt thanks for the loving and wonderful care that they gave to Mom while she was there these past the years.
