Morris Mac Utley, 75, peacefully passed away August 11, 2017 surrounded by his family in Richfield. He was born August 1, 1942 in Sevier, Utah to Cecil Cleve and Jeanette Hyatt Utley. He married Gloria Trujillo on September 19, 1964 in Elko, Nevada. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on August 10, 2007.

Morris attended South Sevier High School and graduated in 1960. He also proudly served in the United States Army.

He was a life-long member of the LDS Church. Over the years he held several callings including assistant Scout Master and youth Sunday School president. He was also a member of the High Priest quorum in the Joseph/Elsinore Ward.

Morris served diligently on the Joseph Town Council as cemetery sexton. He worked on restoring and maintaining the town cemetery. One of his many projects included the building of the Veterans Memorial.

His strong work ethic instilled in him by his father and grandfather is one of the many things he has passed on to all of his children and grandchildren. A quality for which we will always be grateful. Dad never asked more of anyone than he was willing to give himself.

His love for driving began years ago as a young man. He was a long-haul trucker for over 40 years. He was happy behind the wheel, collecting and sharing stories along the way. He loved trucking almost as much as he loved his family.

Morris is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 53 years, Gloria , of Joseph; son, Drexell (Trudy) Utley, Sr. West Valley City; daughter, Rhonda (Walter) Torres, West Jordan; former daughter-in-law, Merrianne Davis; former son-in-law, Javier Valencia; 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Bosklopper, CA; brother, M. Rex (Linda) Utley, MT; several in-laws, nephews, nieces and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Morris Utley; brother, Cecil Utley; great-grandchildren: Kaiden and Brooklynn McKee; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Joseph/Elsinore LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Friday at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the ward chapel in Elsinore from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Joseph Cemetery with military rites.
