Morgan R. "Poge" Larson, 85, passed away February 4, 2015 in Murray. He was born June 6, 1929 in Elsinore to Ervin Henry and Marie Parker Larson. He married Kaye Christiansen June 2, 1956 in Elsinore.
Poge served in the U.S. Navy on a destroyer, and trained as an electrician. He became one of two ship’s electricians and maintained the gyro. After he returned home, he worked with U.S. Gypsum in Sigurd and then with Jensen Electric in Elsinore when they were first starting up. He later moved to Salt Lake and worked as an electrician in commercial construction. He couldn’t wait to retire so he could move home to Elsinore and build his dream log home. He loved to spend time with family and friends. A favorite pass times are gardening, and time with his sweetheart Kaye.
He is survived by his wife of Elsinore; children: Tracy (Fred) Vega; Trent (Chad) Larson; son-in-law, Chad (Lori) Gallagher, all of Salt Lake City; 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 2 step-great-granddaughters; siblings, James Larson of St. George and Joan Tuft of Brigham City.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Trina Gallagher; siblings: Marjorie Winget, Dean (Fran) Larson, Scott (Fay) Larson, Bryant (LaVerne) Larson, Newell (Edna) Larson, Joseph Larson, Joyce (McKay) Roberts, Janice (Kent) Petty; sister-in-law, Beth Larson; brother-in-law, Don Tuft.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in the Elsinore LDS Ward Chapel, 50 North Center. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Elsinore on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Elsinore Cemetery with military rites by the Elsinore American Legion Post # 75 and the Navy Honor Guard
