Mona Rae McInelly Twitchell, 82, passed away January 7, 2015 in Richfield. She was born January 13, 1932 in Escalante to Lester and Golda Woolsey McInelly. She married Clarence Edwin Twitchell, August 29, 1948 in Junction. The marriage was solemnized October 25, 2003, in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death December 10, 2001.

As a youth, Mom worked hard on the family farm. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her grandchildren. Each grandchild has received a handmade quilt from their grandmother.

Mom loved to read and did many handicrafts like crocheting, quilting, and embroidering. She also loved gardening and canned and preserved her bountiful harvest. She was a leader and example to all around her. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings during her lifetime. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Robert (Jane) Twitchell, Cedar City; Debra Aronoff, West Valley City; Leon Twitchell, Antimony; Lloyd (Donna) Twitchell, Enoch; Jerry (Shelly) Twitchell, Elsinore; Lawrence (Rachel) Twitchell, Cedar City; Sharen (Chris) Hanks, West Valley City; daughter-in-law, Peggy Twitchell, Monroe; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, with 1 on the way; siblings: Deleno (Gwen) McInelly, Edith Barker, Ramona Copfer, all of Henrieville; Caren (Therrill) Tucker, Aurora, CO; sister-in-law, Mariam McInelly, Grantsville.

Also preceded in death by parents; son, Raymond Dick Twitchell; son-in-law, Neil Aronoff; siblings: Verl McInelly, LaRona (Dalano) Callahan; brothers-in-law: Amon Barker, Raymond Copfer.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Antimony Ward Chapel where friends may call from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Widtsoe Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff and doctors of the Richfield Care Center and hospice for their loving care.
