M. Dick Sampson

Aurora, Utah

On November 10, 2015, the spirit of Milton Dick Sampson, 79, passed through the veil as he slept at his home in Aurora. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those whom he touched. Among the many lessons learned from Dick is his extreme love for his family, especially after the hardships experienced from his wife’s early passing—family was everything.

Dick was born February 9, 1936 in Sigurd to Glen R and Jennie Snedeger Sampson. He married Rea Memmott, December 19, 1959 in the Manti Temple. She preceded him in death, December 14, 1969.

He married Lola Marie Hodgkinson Bunker, they later divorced.

Dick graduated from Richfield High School, class of 1954 and later Snow College. He excelled at track and was All-State in basketball. He served his country in the Army in Korea.

Dick drove for WYCOFF and later Gurney Trucking. He was a very dependable, hard-working employee and earned many safety awards.

He was an expert horseman, avid outdoorsman and a great patriot.

He is survived by his children: Norma (Larry) Kincaid, Wasilla, Alaska; Bryan Sampson, Aurora; Troy (Janet) Sampson, Saratoga Springs; Cody (Sarah) Sampson, Orem; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Marianne) Sampson, Las Vegas, NV.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Rex Sampson, Dolores (Don) Spencer, Gae (Leon) Carter, Rick Sampson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West in Richfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
