Melene' M Ogden
Richfield, Utah
Melene' McAllister Ogden, age 50, passed away on Sunday January 8, 2017, at her home in Richfield. She was born to Myron R. and Carolyn Redd McAllister on July 3, 1966, she was the little girl her mother had always dreamt of… sort of. As much as her mother wanted to dress her up in ribbons and bows Mel was more interested in all things outdoors and whatever the boys were up to. She remained true to who she was: stubborn, opinionated, and most of all a person who selflessly loved all those around her.
Melene’ met and married Brent Beach in 1985. Their marriage did not last but their love lived on in the beautiful daughter she thought she would never have, Lynzee. Divorce to Mel was not a separation of two people. To her, it meant finding a new path with not fewer, but more, people to love. On April 26, 1991, she married Charlie Ogden. Her love of Charlie lasted the rest of her life and is something she takes with her into eternity. Charlie and Mel were blessed with a wonderful son, CJ.
Melene’ worked as an ultrasound/x-ray technician at Sevier Valley Hospital for over 20 years. Her unmatched skills and compassion for people allowed her to serve countless members of the community who remember Mel’s kindness to this day. Due to unforeseen medical ailments she eventually relinquished her duties at the hospital; however, that did not stop her from continuing her service elsewhere. She volunteered at Sevier Valley Animal Clinic using her valuable skills to help reduce the suffering of many animals and to help their owners find answers they longed for. Her retirement allowed her time to serve her most important callings -- a mother to her children (and her dogs) whom she fiercely loved and adored and a surrogate mother for her many "adopted" children.
When she wasn’t rescuing or caring for her strays (including animals and people alike) she was spending time on or with her horses. It didn’t matter the setting as long as she was surrounded by the beauty of nature, her horses, and the people she loved. She particularly enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the back deck of the beautiful home she and Charlie built. There, they conversed about life and enjoyed the beautiful views of the valley.
Mel will live on through the lives she touched. We don’t know why such a beautiful soul was taken from us so suddenly. What is known is that she will be greatly missed. She leaves behind her husband, Charlie Ogden; her two children: Lynzee and CJ; her mother and father, Myron and Carolyn McAllister: as well as her three siblings: Todd (Holly) McAllister, Kimberly (Troy) Peterson, Chris (Kim) McAllister; and many, many friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents; great-grandparents and father and mother-in-law: Courtney and Renee’ Ogden.
Heavenly Father, we pause, mindful for the many blessings You have bestowed upon us. We ask that You may guide us in the arena of life. Help us Lord, to live our lives in such a manner that when we make the last inevitable ride to the country up there, where the grass grows lush, and the water runs cool, that You, as our final Judge, will tell us, "Welcome home cowgirl your entry fee has been paid."
