 Max Warner Turpin, 82, passed away on January 27, 2025, at Sterling Court Assisted Living in St. George. He was born August 8, 1942 in Bloomington, Illinois to his parents, Parley Elmer and Viona Brennan Turpin. Max spent his growing-up years in Farmer City, Illinois and attended Illinois State University. 

 Max moved to California in 1968, where he was working for State Farm Insurance. There he met Karen. 

 He married Karen Davis on February 20, 1970 in the Manti Temple. They were married for over 54 years. 

 After their marriage, they lived in California, before moving to Utah. They lived in Central Valley for 17 years before moving to Washington City, Utah. Max had several jobs in his life, the last one was a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Office. He loved his customers and enjoyed the association with them until his retirement in 2005. 

 Max was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in the Texas Mission from 1962 – 1964. In the Central Valley Ward, he held many positions. While living in Washington City, he was the bishop of the Washington 2nd Ward. He truly loved the people and they loved him. 

 After retirement, Max and Karen went on a mission to Spokane Washington and served in the Coulee Dam Ward. Here they made many friends which they keep in touch with still. After returning home, they served several stay at home missions. He served in many callings in the wards he lived in Washington City and St. George. 

 In Richfield and Washington City, Max was very active in the Lions Club. He also belonged to the Sons of the Utah Pioneers and made many friends there. He liked to serve his community, he was on the Central Valley Water Board for many years and the HOA Board in Santa Fe. 

 Max was very involved with family history, searching out names and doing temple work for them. He also was a volunteer for FindaGrave.com. He added thousands of memorials and headstone pictures to this site. During this life, he visited many cemeteries throughout the country. 

 Max loved people and made friends wherever he went. 

 Max is survived by his wife, Karen; his sister, Sue Hayes (Linden), Monticello, IL; and many other family members. 

 He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Phyllis; and many others in his family and in Karen’s family also. 

 Several family members have allergies so in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Humanitarian Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

 Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 12:00 Noon in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 S 100 W, Richfield. Viewing at the mortuary from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Venice Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
