Max Thomas Ricketts, 88, of Antimony, Utah, passed away March 29, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born March 4, 1931 in Antimony to Murle Elisha "Lyle" Ricketts and Nelda Day Ricketts. He graduated from Piute High School.
At the age of 18, Max enlisted in the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He married Carolyn Jean Curtis. They were the parents of one son, Tommy. They were later divorced. Max moved to Las Vegas where he operated service stations. While in Las Vegas, he began working in the casino industry and retired as the Special Promotions Director at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. In 1978, Max married Patricia Jean Peters. Max and Tommy along with Patricia and her two children, Sherry and Frank, became a family. After his retirement in 1999, Max and Patricia moved to Antimony, Utah. Max was an avid golfer and sunk a hole-in-one on multiple occasions. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, prospecting and camping with his wife and children. He also enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to fish and pan for gold.
Max was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in various callings.
Max is survived by his children, Sherry Ebarb and Frank (Marie) Fausset; daughter-in-law, Charla Ricketts; sisters, Janet (Lloyd) Anderson and Gloria (Marvin) Porter; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ricketts; son, Tommy Ricketts; sister, Beth (Leo) Knell; brothers: Bud (Enid) Ricketts and Leland Ardell (Sandra) Ricketts, and his parents.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 12:00 Noon in the Antimony Ward Chapel, where friends may call to visit with the family after 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Antimony Cemetery.
