Mary Ellen Pingree Taylor, 91, passed away January 26, 2019 in Richfield. She was born February 18, 1927 in Salt Lake City to Hyrum Walter and Mary Copening Pingree. She married Douglas M Taylor, later divorced.

Mary Ellen loved to paint and do puzzles. She enjoyed traveling, but only needed to visit each place once. She always had a good attitude and outlook on life. Mary Ellen lived in North Hills, California most of her life and has been living in Richfield for the last three years being close to her son, Doug.

She is survived by her children: Terry Halladay, American Fork; Mary (Larry) Sheflo, Agoura, CA; Denise (Henri) Patey, Valley Center, CA; Douglas (Sandra) Taylor, Monroe; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hyrum Walter "Jr" Pingree, Jr.; son-in-law, David Halladay.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Studio City Ward, 11022 Riverside Drive (enter from Ensign Street), North Hollywood, CA, where friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at 3:30 a.m. in the Hollywood Hills–Forest Lawn Cemetery, 6300 Forrest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA.
