Mary Pawlak Kilianski
Richfield, Utah
Mary Pawlak Kilianski, 96, passed away at her home in Richfield on February 14, 2015 surrounded by her two children. She was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, to Adam and Victoria Vinskoski Pawlak. She was one of twelve children born and raised on a working farm to Polish immigrant parents.
On September 2, 1939, she married Stanley Kilianski. They had two children, David and Wanda. The family resided for ten years in Morgantown, West Virgina, and spent the majority of their lives in Garden Grove, California. Stanley passed away on October 3, 1999, a month after celebrating their 60 th wedding anniversary.
Mary was a hard worker her entire life. As a young teenager, she moved to New York, New York (5 th Avenue) and worked as a housekeeper. She later worked at Morgantown Glass Factory in West Virginia, and then became a self-employed seamstress and homemaker. She was very talented with her sewing, guitar, singing, and is remembered as a wonderful, gracious hostess by family and friends.
Mary and her late husband were members of St. Polycarp Catholic Church, Garden Grove, California. After moving to Richfield in 2002, she became a member of the former First Baptist Church of Richfield, Utah. Mary loved the Word of God and she recently accomplished reading the Bible cover to cover. She was very devoted to her faith.
Mary is survived by her children: David (Nadine) Kilionski, Kamuela, Hawaii; and Wanda Johnson, Glenwood, Utah; grandchildren: Cody (Gary) Simonsen, South Jordan, Utah; and Adam (Paige) Johnson, Aurora, Utah; great-grandchildren: Rhett, Emmy, Gary, Kelton, Rylan, and Audrey.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Bruce Johnson; sisters: Toni, Stephania, Josephine, Sophie, Helen, Alice, Mildred; and her brothers: Walter, Stanley, and Nicky.
Mary’s family honored her with a Christian service at the Westminster Memorial Park Cemetery in Westminister, California on Monday, February 23, 2015, followed by interment next to her husband.
