She married John Clele Fletcher September 1, 1937 in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death August 18, 1999, they were married for 62 years.

Together she and Clele raised five children, Sandra Wright, Annabelle Palmer, Rosemary Fletcher, John Fletcher and Rex Fletcher. The family started their home in Springville but they spent much of their married life in Cannonville.

Marva was always very active, both in church and community activities. She served faithfully in the Church as a teacher, Relief Society president, ward organist and ward chorister, but especially enjoyed her calling as ward choir director. She was released at the age of 82.

She was known for the many special musical programs she wrote. As ward Relief Society president, she coordinated the activities related to the Cannonville Ward Building Fund. Every Sunday afternoon, ward members met at the church for hamburgers and hot dogs. She also coordinated numerous ward bazaars.

Retired after many years of service in the U.S. Post Office having spent time at Bryce Canyon, Tropic and Escalante, she loved her job.

Following her retirement, she and Clele completed an LDS mission to Kodiak, Alaska and were ordinance workers in the St. George Temple.

Marva also reported the weekly happenings in a column for Cannonville in the Garfield County News. After Clele passed away, and not wanting to be alone in Cannonville since all of her friends had passed away, Marva moved over to Cedar City to live with her daughter Rosemary.
