It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Evelyn Julander Coates on December 10, 2024, born in Marysvale, Utah, on April 5, 1947. Evelyn was known for her unwavering strength and the warm, loving spirit she brought into this world.

Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband and eternal companion, Randall, married August 7, 1965, and later solemnized in the Saint George temple on July 5, 1966.

She is a beloved mother to Mary LouAnn (Stephen) Rotzler and Dwain Scott (Erin) Coates; grandmother to Shelton Scott, Saige Makayla, and Shaeden Leo; great-grandmother to June Blakely and Dusty Dwain; sister to Barbara (Ferrel) Reynolds, and sister-in-law to Sandy Julander.

Preceded in death by her parents, Boyd Julander and Mary Vaughn Stocks Julander; brother, Donald Boyd Julander.

Evelyn enjoyed the outdoors immensely and spent many summers camping in the mountains with her family. She was a great hunter and loved going to the mountains to get a nice buck. Evelyn shared her love of rock hounding with her grandchildren. She always held a happy, familiar face that made everyone feel loved, and brightened up the day with her smile. Her patience, wholeheartedness, and love for her family will always be remembered. Her memory will live on and inspire strength, resilience, and love in those whose lives she touched.

A viewing will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Riverview Ward 619 West 5750 South, Murray, Utah, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Magleby Mortuary in Richfield, Utah, on December 21,  50 South 100 West, Richfield. Interment to follow at Marysvale Cemetery, Marysvale.
