    Mary Louise Thomas Behunin, 66, passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City on October 6, 2023. She was born on December 28, 1956 in Vernal to LeRoy and Ruby Ellen Clark Thomas. She graduated from Uintah High School in 1974. She met the love of her life, Dwayne Farlan Behunin in 1989. They were married on March 26, 1990 in Vernal. Mary brought a son, Jeremy, and Farlan brought a daughter, Sharlene, and a son, Dean to the marriage, making a wonderful and loving family. 
    Mary and Farlan lived in Vernal for eight years while he worked construction and she took care of her mother. Mary was an amazing cook. She worked at the Boulder Mesa Restaurant for approximately 10 years but her true love was cooking for kids. She prepared breakfast and lunch for the elementary school age children in Boulder for about 15 years, and then worked in Escalante cooking for all the school age kids for another 3 years until Farlan passed away. 
    Always busy, once Mary became a widow she went to work at the little store in Boulder and loved it. She always greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word. 
    Mary loved her dogs. They were like her babies and she even named several dogs the same name, “Muffin”. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and taking care of people in the ward. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings in the Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary. She also served several stake missions with Farlan. 
    She is survived by her children: Jeremy David Thomas, Sharlene Behunin Wilde, Dean Farlan (Samantha) Behunin; brothers: Kenny Thomas and Terry Thomas; sister, Joanne (Kevin) Long. She is also survived by grandchildren: Ashlynn (Coy) Smith, Hayden Thomas, McKenna Thomas, Connor Thomas, Savannah Thomas, Kayla (Trevor) Payne, Austin (Mallory) Wilde , Shayna (Kaden) Argyle, Jacob Behunin and Garrett Behunin. 
    Mary is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters: Sherry Thomas, Kathy (Jerry) Millette. 
    Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Boulder Ward Chapel, where a viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Burial will be in the Boulder City Cemetery.
