Marjorie Anne Nichols, "Anne", passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in Provo, Utah. She was born on February 4,1938 in Richfield, Utah to Morris Borg and Ivy Anderson Nielson. She graduated from Richfield High School and Brigham Young University, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1964. Anne became an educator, teaching thousands of children to read and write during her 27 years as a first-grade teacher　in the Clark County, Nevada,　School District. 　Anne was known to travel in the circles of the political and Hollywood elite, her greatest rewards came as an educator, especially the two years she spent teaching children on the Navajo Reservation in Ganado, AZ.

Anne married Leo D. Jensen (later divorced) in 1956.

Anne married John Nichols (later divorced) in the Salt Lake Temple in 1964. They had two children, John and Maren.

Anne was a member of the LDS Church and served as an ordinance worker at the Las Vegas Temple, in the Relief Society and in Young Women's.　　Anne had many interests, next to education was her passion for politics. She was a member of the Davis County Republican Women. She also served as the Vice President of The Active Republican Women of Las Vegas for four years building a formidable force to influence Nevada　politics and to this day a powerful fund raising force in the state of Nevada.　She also　served　a two-year internship for the Utah State Legislature 1981-82. Anne loved　the arts and served on the　Opera Board of Las Vegas and regularly attended the symphony of Las Vegas. She worked with the University of Nevada Las Vegas creating a scholarship program for students of the arts.　Anne treasured her experiences abroad,　traveling alone by rail and staying in hostels　throughout Europe and Russia. Anne's　greatest source of pride was her family.　To Anne, her parents and brothers　lived exemplary lives and were the role models she held up for her family. She loved her children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews and　took great satisfaction from their accomplishments in　both　their personal and professional　lives.　　 Anne lived her life with passion and style. Her exuberance and her　pursuit of new experiences defined her life and made a lasting impression on all she knew.

Anne is survived by two brothers: Douglas (Mary Lou) Nielson, Provo; and Greg (Dee) Nielson, Mesa, AZ; and by her two children: John (Deaun) Nichols, St. George; and Maren (Bill) DeBoer, West Bountiful. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Chris, Scott, Katelyn, Kalli and Kortney. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary, 50 S 100 W in Richfield where friends may call from 9:30-10:30.
