Marjorie Powell Fuellenbach, 91, peacefully passed away due to heart complications, surrounded by her family on November 4, 2013 at Heber Valley Medical Center. Marge was born to George and Georgia Tuttle Powell on April 16, 1922 in Glenwood, Utah. Marge married Norman J. Fuellenbach on March 22, 1943 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death November 27, 1977.

Norm’s family owned the Richfield Reaper in Richfield, Utah and after marrying Norm she started working at the newspaper. After serving as both the co-publisher and then the circulation manager, Marge retired from the Reaper in 2010.

Marge was a life-long member of the Utah Press Association. In 1998 she received the John E. Jones Award for outstanding contributions to the newspaper industry, participating in the programs of the organization, and her remarkable record of participating at their annual winter conventions for more than half-a-century.

Marge was instrumental in starting the New Horizons Crisis Center in Richfield. She loved tending her roses and playing bridge with great friends. She loved the cabin that she and Norm built at Fish Lake, "Happy Fish," and was known for her joy in watching the hummingbirds and chickadees while there.

Marge especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and established many fun traditions the family still carries on. Her whistling and her cheerful attitude were known by friends and family alike.

She is survived by daughter Susan and her husband Richard Buys of Heber City; son, Kent and his wife Robin Fuellenbach of Salmon, Idaho (currently serving a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois); daughter-in-law Mari Fuellenbach; daughter, Jan and her husband Kraig Patterson; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Marge is also preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters and one brother; son, Mark George Fuellenbach; and daughter Judy Stout; grandson-in-law, Terry Groulx.

Marge was the ultimate hostess and had a knack for making everyone feel welcome. She had a delightful sense of humor and a quick wit. Marjorie P. and Gramarge, as she was affectionately called by her family, was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. We love you and miss you, Whistler.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West, Richfield, where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
