Marilyn Ann Bown, born to Deloy and Margaret Holye Bown on October 23, 1946, passed away on April 25, 2021 at St. Marks Hospital in SLC of natural causes.
Marilyn is survived by sisters: Carolyn (Gene) Gates and Sharilyn (Terry) Christensen. She was so loved and survived by 22 nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Marilyn served the state of Utah by servicing children and adults with disabilities. She changed the housing resources and in so doing changed and improved countless individual lives and families. Marilyn worked for the State of Utah, Acumen, and started her own Pro Axis company.
Marilyn graduated from South Sevier High School in Monroe, Utah. She later received additional higher education degrees and began serving countless individuals with disabilities. Marilyn received a Native American name of “Patch and Mend Woman” with this description. “Patch and Mend Woman” senses the breaks and cracks in bodies and minds of those who are struggling, provides resources and caring, helping them to mend, restoring their lives to a useful beauty.
Marilyn enjoyed life, road trips, dominoes with friends, books and the Beach Boys music. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who knew her. Marilyn made the world a better place for many people.
