Margaret Johnson Russell, 89, was the mother of ten, grandmother of 49, and great-grandmother of 56. She passed away surrounded by family December 30, 2011. She was born in Escalante, Utah on November 26, 1922 to Harriet Nona Parry and Orville Seth Johnson. She married Austin Gibbons Russell on her birthday, November 26, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death, October 1, 2007.
Margaret loved to cook and held many church callings like playing the organ in the Manti Temple. She and Austin served a Family History Mission for the LDS Church. She was an avid reader and author.
Margaret is survived by her ten children and their spouses: Michael (Shirley Howell), Pamela (Raymond Jensen), Stephanie (James Kvamme), Bryan (Charisse Howard), Kathryn (George Wouden), Melinda (Brant Layton), Julane (William Sullivan), Mark (Erin Peterson), Andrew (Kimberli Christensen), and Jonathan (Amy Green).
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Austin; four sisters Plet, Orvilla, Carol, and Ruth; and grandson, KamRay Jensen.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim 6 th Ward, 450 N. 200 W. Where friends may callfrom 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Ephraim Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Golden Skyline Assisted Living Center in Ephraim for the kind and loving care provided to Margaret over the last four years.
