Marcia Jean Taylor Christiansen, 88, of Mayfield, passed away March 7, 2024 at Community Living Center in Centerfield. She was born August 16, 1935 in Gunnison to Ray and Marcia Taylor. She graduated from Gunnison Valley High School and the following July 17, 1953, she married Paul Reed Christiansen in the Manti Temple. Paul preceded her in death on December 1, 2012.
Marica was an excellent cook and loved to do family dinners. She also loved to crochet and gave many of her afghan and hot pads to friends and family. She was an avid reader and her library could rival the best.
She is survived by her children: Pauline (Jarvis) Sorensen, David (Natalee) Christiansen; son-in-law, Michael Allen; 13 grandchildren and 35-great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Taylor, and her sisters: Ida (Garn) Nelson, Janice (Allen) Harris; sisters-in-law, Karolyn Hermansen and June Presser; along with many nieces and nephews.
Also preceded in death by her parents; daughters: Paula Rae Christiansen and Karen Ann Allen; in-laws, Reed and Aleda Christiansen; sister-in-law, Nila Taylor and brothers-in-law, Redge Hermansen and W John Christiansen.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in the Mayfield Ward Chapel, where friends may call Monday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. or Tuesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery.
