Mae Beth Luke

Kingston, Utah

Mae Beth Bradshaw Luke left this existence on August 15, 2015. She was stepping outside to walk barefoot in the grass when a blood vessel burst in her brain. She lost her balance and fell. She was 87 years young.

She was a remarkable woman who led a remarkable life. Born in Provo, Utah on March 4, 1928, she was the 4th child of Marian Covington and Samuel Bradshaw. Her family had a fruit farm with orchards full of red apples, sweet cherries, peaches, pears, and plums. She lived the beginning of her life in a two-room house with her parents, brothers: Samuel Rawl, Willard, Bob, and sister: DeLenna.

When she was 18, she married a dashing, recently returned World War II veteran by the name of William Darrell Luke on December 16, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She gave birth to nine children. Her life was filled with caring for children and carving out a living on the small ranch in Kingston.

Mae Beth loved to learn new things. Her curiosity lead her to read voraciously on the subjects of health, wellness, life, religious philosophies and mystical ideas. She always loved music and began singing early in her life. She would sit in the branches of the trees in the fruit orchards and practice her songs. Her mother noticed and soon enlisted Aunt Birdie to give her singing lessons. Throughout her life, singing in choirs and with her husband and family brought her happiness.

Her life was filled with challenges that she met with grace and dignity. Mae Beth reveled in small things that would bring her joy: a bouquet of freshly picked sunflowers, a rain drop trickling down a fresh red apple, and walking barefoot in the dewy grass.

She is survived by sons: Gaylan Bradshaw (Debra) Luke, Kyle James (Cheri) Luke , Samuel Patrick Luke; daughters: Beth Taunae Luke, Ilene (John) Bracken, Sherree Luke (Philippe Blot), MaryAnn (Kevin, deceased) Hull, Lisa (Steven) Scheid; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brother: Willard (Carol) Bradshaw.

She is preceded in death by: husband; son, William Desmond Luke; son-in-law, Kevin Hull; brothers: Samuel Rawl Bradshaw, Bob Bradshaw; sister, DeLenna Mecham. Cremation services have taken place.
