Madge Virginia Draper, 88, of Manti, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Madge was born on March 31, 1924 to Fred and Alta Schlapfer Nielson in Manti, UT. Madge was raised and educated in Manti and enjoyed her life here. She married Harvey Draper, their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Madge enjoyed many things; beautiful flowers, reading, crocheting, and listening to “old” country and classical music. Most especially, Madge loved seeing her grandchildren. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she attended the temple often with her friends.
Madge will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her children: Bart (Connie) Draper, North Ogden; Sharon (Ron) Jackman, Moroni; and Gayle (Billy) McIntosh, Centerfield. She is also survived by a brother; Keith (Lorraine) Nielson, Mayfield, sister; Judy (Gary) Towne, Manco, CO; and 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons; Brad and Kent, 3 brothers; Blaine, Burke and Jack; and a grandson, Billy Fry.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Manti 8th Ward Chapel, 300 South Main. Friends may call on Friday prior to services from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Ephraim Park Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
