Mack Holt

McClaine "Mack" Holt, four days shy of 90, passed away January 20, 2014 in Richfield. He was born January 24, 1924 in Torrey to Claud McClaine and Leona Pectol Holt. He married Rachel Lorraine Brown May 5, 1945 in Richfield. The marriage was solemnized June 12, 1952 in the Manti Temple. She preceded him in death March 5, 2010.

Mack served in the Navy during World War II as a signalman on the USS Scrimmage in the Pacific Theater. He was proud to be an American and to have served his country. He was a member of Kiwanis Club and Lions Club of Richfield. He was an elder in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many ward and stake capacities.

Mack enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing and a good game of cards with his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved and spoiled his grandchildren

He is survived by his children: Kenneth McClaine (LuAnne) Holt, West Jordan; Kathy (Alma LaMont) Shepherd, Grace, ID; Kelly (Lucetta) Holt, Grace, ID; Desra (John) Evans, Richfield; Claude B. (Carolann) Holt, Richfield; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: DeVon (Vione) Holt, Las Vegas, NV; LeOla Miles, Bellingham, WA.

Also preceded in death by parents; one great-grandson; one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Richfield 5th Ward Chapel, 800 North 500 East. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary and Friday at the ward chapel from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and Utah Honor Guard
