   Lynn Russell Porter, 82, of Escalante, passed away at his home September 24, 2024. Lynn was born November 19, 1941 to Derell and Twilia Schow Porter. He grew up in Salt Lake City, later he moved with his mother and step-father to Escalante where his extended family lived.  
   A fun and loving person, the little stuff in life made Lynn happy. He had a love for football — his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys — no matter how many losses or wins. He loved John Wayne movies, as long as they had cowboys and Indians. Lynn thought the police cars and fire trucks were cool. He loved so many things in life. 
   Lynn is survived by: sister-in-law, Shirley Porter, Escalante; nieces and nephews: Kim Porter, Escalante; Charles (Kathy) Porter, West Valley City; Darcy (Mike) Brannin, Payson; sister, Carla Bryant, NC; nieces and nephew, Wendy, Lorie, and Ben, all of NC; extended family: uncle, Ralph Northrup and niece, Delores Sanchez Northrup; many great nephews, nieces and cousins.  
   Lynn is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Guy Leming; siblings: Sherril D Porter, Gaytha Loeffler; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and more.  
   Our family would like to thank our mom Shirley, and brother Kim, for continuing to care for Lynn after our father, Sherril passed away. Thank you.       Cremation in the Magleby Mortuary and Cremation Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date — we will notify family and friends.
