Lynn Bagley

Koosharem, Utah

On May 4, 2012, Lynn Gar Bagley reached thru the veil to hold the hand of his eternal sweetheart, Glennona, and quietly slipped thru. One of his fondest memories was of him holding Glennona’s hand thru the post office window as a young man on his way to his mission. He often said when he took her hand that day it felt like it belonged there. For seven years Lynn has longed to hold her hand again. Together for eternity they now rejoice in being united again.

Lynn was born on November 10, 1918 in Greenwich, Utah to George Alma and Mary Elizabeth Winget Bagley. Lynn was the fourth child with three brothers and four sisters. He loved each one of the dearly.

Upon serving an honorable mission to the Northern States Lynn married Mary Glennona DeLange on June 29, 1943. Lynn and Glennona are the parents of Verl L. and Alcea Bagley: Greenwich, Mary Ann and Steve Steffensen; Cedar City, LaRell A. and Carolyn Bagley; Monroe, Sherry Lynne and Scott Cook, Riverton; and Marvin D. and Sheralyn Bagley; Richfield. They have 25 wonderful grandchildren, 41 ¾ perfect great grandchildren. Lynn and Glennona counted their family as their biggest blessing. We counted them as ours.

Lynn held many positions in the LDS Church such as bishop and high councilman. He lived his life as an example to all. He loved the scriptures and his Savior.

He was a farmer, rancher and stockman. This occupation allowed him to have fame as a fix-anything-guy. He was a welder, electrician, mason, plumber, blacksmith, veterinarian and mechanic. He worked hard all his life and loved it. In his personal history he felt his occupation was a "great boy builder." This was very true because he has spent many hours with his sons, nephews and then his grandsons teaching them to work hard and to be honorable men. Lessons we are very thankful for.

Lynn is survived by his children and four siblings: Keith Bagley, Layton; Alean Sevy, Perry; Rolland Bagley, Greenwich; Leola (Don) Herzog, Salt Lake and his siblings by marriage, Ora Nell and Howard Frei, St. George and Wayne and Kaomi DeLange, Austin.

Lynn is preceded in death by his wife, Glennona, grandchildren, Slade LaRell Bagley and Callie Sue Cook; great-grandchildren Parker Steven Steffensen and TyLee Mae Bagley; parents; siblings: Dean (Ada) Bagley, Lula (Reed) Payne, Ione "Tony" (Raymond)Black; in-laws: Fern Bagley, George Sevy, and Elsie Bagley.

We, the children of this great man, want to say although he was a very small man he was a giant in his ability to love, lead, teach and guide us to be Christ-like. We can honestly say we have been "born of goodly parents."

We would like to thank all the staff at Monroe Canyon Assisted Living for their care, patience, assistance and, most of all, the love they have given our dad. Thanks for everything and remember you will be blessed for the service you give to these great residents in your facility. You have given your all in their care. We would also like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jason Okerlund for his special assistance and love given to Dad and to the Gunnison Hospice crew that helped so much.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 9, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Koosharem LDS Ward Chapel.
