LuJuana Beutler

Richfield, Utah

LuJuana Gulbransen Beutler, 83, of Richfield, passed away peacefully in her home on December 11, 2019. LuJuana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

LuJuana was born on a farm in Central Valley on March 23, 1936 to Oscar and Alice King Gulbransen. She grew up in a large family and learned how to work hard and love strong. She attended local schools and attained many skills and talents. LuJuana had a great passion for life, a smile and personality that would light up any room, the greatest laugh, and a heart of gold. She adored her family and filled her home with love, devotion, laughter, and encouragement. She was very social and would love to visit and tell stories to family, friends, and even strangers!

At the early age of 16, she met the love of her life, Perry Charles Beutler, and they became close sweethearts and were married on April 9, 1953. She always joked around that they didn’t travel much — she moved from Central to Richfield. LuJuana and Perry lived in a small house for about 9 years and then they built a new home on the same lot and lived there for the next 50+ years. LuJuana was very talented and drew up the plans for their beautiful home. After it was built and for many years since then, she was a very gracious hostess. All who entered their home were treated with kindness, generosity and love! LuJuana would invite them in and give of herself, whether it be to feed them, listen and counsel them, share stories, or help them in any way. You could never leave her home without feeling loved and being fed. She truly was the queen of her palace!

Perry was a rancher and LuJuana loved him very dearly. She always stayed by his side and supported him throughout their 63 years of married life together. LuJuana was a great seamstress, very talented cook, master gardener, wonderful wise counselor, creative quilter, and had a generous nature about her to help anyone in need! She was a very resourceful, gifted person with a fun loving personality and she served and enjoyed many positions in the Richfield community. Among them were waitressing at the Topsfield Lodge and Travel Lodge, and working at the Richfield Livestock Auction. She enjoyed her work and truly loved the people she worked with and the people she worked for and served. LuJuana was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent over 23 years as Compassionate Service leader where she planned and served for many funeral luncheons and helped many families in need.

Her greatest joys in life were her three sons: Brent, Marty, and Van L, her wonderful grandchildren, and her beautiful great-grandchildren. LuJuana treasured each time spent with family and she truly loved serving them.

LuJuana is survived by her sons: Brent Charles Beutler, Farmington, UT; Martin (Kathleen) Beutler, Rapid City, SD; and Van L. Beutler, Richfield, UT; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; siblings: Darrel Gulbransen, CA; Reta (Hank) VanWeerd, Fairfield, CA; and sister-in-law, Carol Gulbransen, Central Valley, UT.

LuJuana was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Dale, Ray, Vern, LaMar, and Rulon Gulbransen; sister, Darlene Gulbransen; and great-granddaughter, Hazel Lily Beutler.
