Lovena Hamblen
Monroe, Utah
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Lovena LeBaron Hamblen, 81, returned home to her Heavenly Father on July 25, 2014 in Farmington, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.
Mom was born October 11, 1932 in San Bernardino, California to Olaf and Lora Mae Berry LeBaron. She was the fifth of 10 children. She met her lifetime sweetheart, David Hamblen while living there. They were married on March 18, 1950 in Las Vegas. Their marriage was solemnized in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple in 1954. Dad preceded her in death, May 10, 1992.
Mom had many talents. She created many works of art in cross stitch, embroidery and sewing. Her quilts were her trademark. They were cherished by all who were fortunate to be given one. She quilted in many state fairs.
Mom loved her Heavenly Father. She served three missions in her lifetime. One in the Manti Temple, a second in Canton, Ohio, and a third in the SLC Genealogical History Center.
Mom loved genealogy. She, her sister and a niece shared much of this genealogy in a family newsletter that was sent to all the immediate and extended family. It brought much of the family together.
Mom was loved by all who knew her. Her letters and gift boxes were always a treat and a blessing for many. She leaves behind a testimony of love for God and her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. We will miss you Mom until we meet again.
Mom is survived by her children: Beverly (Dick) Callagy, Janet (Don) Farnsworth, Julie (Dwight) Jenkins, Lora Nelson, Richard Hamblen, Peggy (Scott) Redd; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; siblings: Loren LeBaron, Winifred Shuey, Eleanor (Joe) Jones, Donna (Kenneth) Witham, Yvonne Matthews, Doris Christensen, Larry LeBaron, Paul (Jan) LeBaron; adopted to Mom is her friend, Beatrice Jackson.
